I wonder, do singers and song writers leave a piece of themselves in every song they write? I would like to believe that they do. When they write that song…and the song is heard by the thousands. Where does that piece of heart end up? Where and how does it manifest? I think we’ve all heard some great love songs which have flooded every crevice of our hearts and listened to the song over and over again. I have heard songs that have reaffirmed the existence of love to me. Reaffirmed through the portrayal or embodiment of the piece of heart that the musician poured into the song. I sure it does different things for different people.
My real question is, does the musician give up a part of themselves? In affect losing a part of their heart to their music?
Is that love lost? Is it reciprocated by that one obsessive fan? Or if you’re a superstar, is it given back ten fold by that screaming crowd?
If a musician gives a piece of their heart in their music is it in search of love? If a musician doesn’t give a piece of heart is the music real?

EL ATENEO: A theatre turned into a library. Gorgeous right?
I want this in my room.
I’ve always been the loser in the battle with sleep. If you’ve ever lived with me, I apologize. My multiple alarms I know are pretty obnoxious. I’ve been winning in Ghana and I plan on keeping the streak going! I have found out that you can run on 5 hours of sleep. Who knew?
